Yum! Brands acquires Tictuk Technologies

Yum! Brands, a US-based firm that operates popular brands like KFC and Pizza hut has acquired Tictuck Technologies, a multichannel ordering and marketing platform based out of Israel. The financial terms of the acquisition have not been disclosed.

Tictuk was found in 2016 and specializes in conversational commerce. Conversational commerce is a term that referred to e-commerce activities that are carried out using various mediums of conversation like chat. Technologies like speech recognition, AI, etc are used to carry out these activities. Tictuk's solutions allow users to place orders and interact with brands through existing social media and chat platforms. These include WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, Telegram, SMS, and Email. The solution also uses chat, web advertisements, and intelligent marketing technologies to power its marketing platform.

Tictuk's solution reportedly integrates easily with existing POS and payments systems. It can be used for customer engagement in the form of deliveries, order pick-ups as well as dine-in. The acquisition of Tictuk expands Yum! Brands' technology capabilities and will increase their ability to process digital orders. Customers will be able to order food from KFC, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, and other brands using social media and chat platforms they are already familiar with and using.

Yum! Brands have already released Tictuk's solution for approximately 900 KFC, Taco Bell, and Pizza Hut restaurants in 35 countries outside the United States. Tictuk will continue to offer its platform to its existing client as part of the acquisition deal.
